D330/D530 Socket 478 Motherboard

Strengths: A good number of features, easily replacing my old mother board that failed.

Weakness: Audio Drivers did not work. No general setup instructions for the motherboard.

The audio drivers shipped with the motherboard did not work. And none of the drivers on the HP, Asus, or Reltek sites worked either. The Reltek drivers even failed with a 'blue screen'. I had to install a separate sound card to get any sound.

Compaq D330/D530 Socket 478 Motherboard

Strengths: The motherboard has a lot of features. The front-side bus speed is better than my old board that died, so the overall result is the computer runs faster.

Weakness: Driver for audio onboard audio doesn't work. No setup instructions included with motherboard. No rear panel included which surrounds the I/O jacks.

The drivers that came with the motherboard did not work with the onboard audio, and neither HP, Asus or Reltek could provide a downloadable driver that would work. The one from Reltek would fail with a 'blue screen'. I ended up having to buy a separate sound card to get any sound.

HP D330 OEM motherboard

Strengths: Socket 478 platform

Weakness: no onboard sound, no I/O shield

good motherboard, except, onboard sound doesn't work. Also it is impossible to find the correct I/O Shield for this board. I will NOT buy another junky motherboard like this again, as this is the 2nd one I've gotten with the same 2 problems!!! This seems to be a common problem with these OEM boards, surplus JUNK!!!
