Strengths: easy to use, and mega loudness and power, along with great sound, and compatibility. super!!!
Weaknesses: well, i wish that it held like 5 more songs, i plan on buying the snap on backpack for it, than it will be PERFECT
Summary: um...the only thing i have to say is that this is as great buy, and that i wouldn't really recommend getting anything other than a rio product, and it's just really really good.

Strengths: Tough player!! I've dropped it from waist height many times and it still works! Easy to use controls.
Weaknesses: For some reason the software conflicts with my Compaq printer. When the printer is turned on, the software goes haywire. That's easy to fix, though, by turning the printer off.
Summary: I love my Rio!! Have worn and used it almost daily at work for over a year and abuse it badly, but it still works. It would be good to have more memory, but the 32 mb holds an hour or more of an audio book. The padded case and small size are nice for using when working. The software reloads the player easily and quickly and file management is fairly easy. If I lose my Rio I'll have to quit my job.

Strengths: Install was easy and worked the first time.
Weaknesses: On board 32Mb is not as much as you would think.
Summary: I bought the 64 Mb back pack shortly after the Rio 600 and this made the device worth while. The standard unit uses a AA battery and goes through them after about 10 hours of use. The USB connection worked flawlessly and is much quicker than a serial transfer.

All in all a well made device. If you can afford the higher memory units I'd get one.
